  • Meg & Grisham - Legend of the Masks

When Grisham encounters Meg she is at low point in her life. Having been abandoned by her husband, she finds herself trying to ease the pain with the bottle. While on the island tour at Saturn Island Grisham meets Meg and quickly senses that something is wrong. Moved, he strikes up a conversation as the tour guide stops at a viewpoint where they get a look at the Paine Mansion.

The description of the replica of the Blue Diamond, a twin masted schooner, that has been built right inside the old mansion, has Grisham wanting to get a closer look.  Meg shares his sentiment and suggests they break from the tour and hike to the mansion.

By the end of the tour Grisham hands her his card. It wasn't the words he used, but what she felt as he spoke with her that made a difference in her life. She accepts his card and hesitatingly commits to call him.

Because of what she felt, Meg accepts Grisham's advice to clean her life up; then anxious to show him the new Meg, she later contacts him. Grisham had been receiving so many phone calls from old friends due to a barbeque he was preparing to host, he takes her call and offers directions to his place never recognizing the caller on the other end of the phone. The encounter at Grisham's place out on Raft Island is heart warming.

Legend of the Masks is the second of The Island Gang series authored by Larry Johns. Purchase your signed copies of the books here, or go to Amazon.com.
